We are located on Remizovka, 900m above Al-Farabi Avenue, behind the Villa complex and Lexus showroom. The school is in a quiet and leafy residential neighborhood.

KIS has an artificial football pitch, a netball court and a running track, as well as a fully-equipped outdoor playground for young children.

KIS has a large, well-equipped sports hall which is suitable for a range of sports, including basketball, volleyball, badminton, futsal and handball, among others. We also have a spacious indoor training room, a dance/martial arts room, and a weights/fitness training room.

Our intake comprises approximately 40% expatriate and 60% Kazakhstani students. KIS is home to around 30 nationalities in total.

KIS has 63 expatriate teachers from all over the world - including the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and the European Union - who work alongside 30 local teachers. All of our academic staff have a formal pedagogical qualification, including our team of nearly 20 Teaching Assistants. Please see OUR TEAM for biographical information about some of our teachers.

KIS is proud to be an all-through IB World School, following the framework of the International Baccalaureate and its three programmes for students aged 2-18: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). Children from the ages of 2 to 6 can enroll in our Early Years Center. Beyond that, children attend the main school (Grades 1-12). We admit children to Grade 1 from 6 years of age.

Both the Early Years Center and the main school are on the same campus. 

Most students can enroll at any time within an academic year. However, students for the Diploma Programme (entry in Grade 11) are strongly advised to enroll before the start of the school year, to ensure the best chance of keeping up with this academically rigorous and demanding course. 

Yes, we have a school bus service, including our famous yellow KIS buses! Routes are designed to be as swift and efficient as possible for all passengers. Every bus has an experienced and careful driver, and a bus monitor on board to ensure the children are safe. 

We provide these services on an optional basis. The cost of school meals and the school bus service are therefore paid separately.
