2024 KIS DP Art Exhibition

A Canvas of Creativity

Each year the International Baccalaureate (IB) visual arts diploma students - worldwide - present their artwork in an exhibition as the culmination of their two-year creative artistic exploration.

The IB Diploma Programme visual arts course challenges students to pursue their own creative and cultural exploration and personal boundaries. It is a thought-provoking course in which students develop analytical skills in problem-solving and divergent thinking, while working towards technical proficiency and confidence as art-makers.

The artwork addresses a variety of topics and issues that reflect multicultural experiences and socio-political contexts of the world in which we live. Exploring a wide range of media and techniques across the two years, students have individually directed a cohesive body of work, including: painting, drawing, photography, video, sculpture, mixed-media assemblage, and installation art.

KIS students also investigate theoretical and conceptual approaches to making art across two years of sustained investigation, which adds a depth of understanding and cultural reflection not often seen in traditional high school art classes.

Congratulations to the 2024 art cohort on their final art exhibition!
