KIS Beehive Project
at Kolsay Lake National Park
Kazakhstan International School is proud to announce its impactful partnership with Kolsai National Park. This collaboration embodies KIS’s commitment to not only academic excellence but also environmental stewardship. By merging education and action, we aim to foster a lasting connection between our students and the environment.
At the heart of the initiative is a dynamic curriculum that integrates Science and Design for our 9th Grade students. This interdisciplinary approach gives students an opportunity to learn about the critical role bees play in maintaining ecological systems, all while applying design thinking to real-world issues.
MORE LEARNING
MORE IMPACT
Kazakhstan International School is deeply rooted in the Almaty community, striving to make a meaningful difference through active service and engagement. Our initiatives, such as our impactful partnership with Kolsai National Park, are a testament to our commitment to not only academic excellence but also the betterment of our surroundings. By promoting environmental stewardship, we instill in our students a sense of responsibility to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Kazakhstan.
Our students turned theory into action by constructing beehive boxes. Through this hands-on project, they didn’t just learn about bees—they actively contributed to the conservation of local bee populations in partnership with Kolsai Lakes National Park. The beehive boxes are now installed where they are needed most, making an immediate impact on the environment.
