Margot’s Exhibition: The Ephemerality of the Human Condition

Each year, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme visual arts students worldwide present their artwork in an exhibition as the culmination of their two-year creative and artistic exploration. The course challenges students to push personal and cultural boundaries, while developing analytical skills, divergent thinking, and technical proficiency as confident art-makers.

In April 2025, KIS proudly hosted its IB DP Art Exhibition, showcasing a diverse range of student works across painting, drawing, photography, video, sculpture, mixed-media assemblage, and installation art. These artworks reflected global and personal narratives, addressing both collective and individual experiences.

Among them was Margot’s exhibition, The Ephemerality of the Human Condition, which explored the fragility of identity, the inevitability of loss, and the delicate, fleeting nature of being human.

Central to her exhibition was the piece A Seat at the Table of God. This work reflects on the dinner table as a democratic stage—a place where love, food, and fellowship unite people in shared experience. Inspired by the biblical imagery of the land of milk and honey, as well as poetry and symbolism, the piece brings together themes of nourishment, community, and transcendence in a single, monumental expression.

Through this collection, Margot invites viewers not only to see her art but to feel it as a mirror of their own lives. Her work asks audiences to reflect on their relationships with others, with themselves, and with the wider world, finding meaning in the fragile yet profound nature of the human condition.
