Acrylic Painting
WHY PAINTING?
A painting co-curricular activity involves learning the different techniques and skills involved in creating art using various mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolors, and drawing. It is a creative activity that allows students to express themselves and explore their artistic abilities.
In an acrylic painting co-curricular activity, students learn about color theory, composition, and various painting techniques using acrylic paints. They learn how to use different brushes, techniques like blending, layering, and creating textures, and how to create different effects like light and shadow, and perspective. Students also learn how to mix different colors and use them in their paintings to create unique effects.
In a watercolor painting co-curricular activity, students learn about different techniques of using watercolors, including wet-on-wet, dry-brush, and wet-on-dry techniques. They also learn about color theory, composition, and the different effects that can be achieved through the use of watercolors. Students also learn how to use different brushes and painting surfaces to create different effects and textures.
Drawing co-curricular activities involve learning the basics of drawing, including the use of different pencils, techniques like shading, cross-hatching, and drawing from observation. Students learn how to create sketches, portraits, landscapes, and still-life drawings.

The sport of fencing involves three different weapons: the foil, the epee, and the sabre. Each weapon has its own set of rules and techniques, and they are used in different types of competitions. The foil is a light weapon that is used for thrusting attacks, and it is the most commonly used weapon in the sport. The epee is a heavier weapon that is used for thrusting and cutting attacks, and it is the most traditional weapon used in fencing. The sabre is a curved sword that is used for cutting and thrusting attacks, and it is the most aggressive and fast-paced weapon used in fencing.
Fencing as a co-curricular activity involves learning the basics of footwork, attack, defense, and strategy. Students are taught how to move on the fencing strip, how to attack and defend themselves, and how to anticipate their opponent's movements. Fencing is a sport that requires quick reflexes, precise movements, and mental agility. As such, students who participate in fencing can improve their coordination, concentration, and decision-making skills.
In a typical fencing class or practice, students will first warm up with stretching and basic movements before moving on to drills and sparring. Fencing competitions are typically conducted in a round-robin format, where each fencer will compete against every other fencer in their pool. The top fencers in each pool will then advance to the elimination rounds, where they will compete in a single-elimination format until a winner is determined.

WHY FOOTBALL?
Our football program offers a wide range of benefits in a fun and competitive format, where our football teams will have a number of opportunities to play football games with students from other international schools both within Almaty via COASH and also within the region of Central Asia through CAFA. Some of the benefits of participating in this program include:
- Physical Fitness and Health: Football is a physically demanding sport that helps students develop strength, endurance, agility, and cardiovascular fitness.
- Teamwork and Cooperation: Football is a team sport that teaches students the importance of working together towards a common goal. Players learn how to communicate effectively, collaborate, and rely on each other's strengths, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.
- Discipline and Time Management: Football requires consistent practice, training, and dedication. Student-athletes learn valuable time management skills as they balance their academic responsibilities with their commitments to the team. Lastly KIS will arrange football games throughout Season 1 with other schools in Almaty via the COASH organization. These will take place on Saturday mornings over a number of weeks. There will be a number of teams that will be dependent on the age of the students and these are as follows: U9. U11.

Hip hop dancing is a co-curricular activity that involves learning the different styles and techniques of hip-hop dance. It is a physical activity that requires rhythm, coordination, and creativity. ASA Bus Service
The new ASA season is starting soon, and we are pleased to announce that we plan to launch school bus transportation for students attending these activities. We are excited to continue expanding our services and making after-school programs more accessible for everyone. This semester, the bus service will be available only for students attending ASA five days a week. We are also happy to inform you that free clubs have been added to the program and are available for registration.
To register for the ASA bus service, you will need to complete this online form, which will be sent to you shortly. The deadline for submitting the form is August 25 at 10:00 AM. Please note: the bus route will only be launched if a minimum of 5 students from the same district register for the service. This is the minimum number required to launch a bus.
Monthly transportation costs:
- Total cost per child: 73,000 KZT
If more students join a particular route, the cost per child will be reduced accordingly.
Additionally, please be aware that once your child is registered for the ASA bus service, they will be removed from the regular 3:00 PM school transportation list. We are committed to continuing our development and plan to offer even more convenient and diverse options for you and your children in the future.
